Forks 3, North Beach 0 (25-13, 25-12, 25-20)

(Forks, WA) The Forks Spartans were looking for the season sweep of North Beach after blanking the Hyaks just this last Saturday. In the 2nd head-to-head match the Spartans were the host team of the home and home series.

Forks came into the match unbeaten in Pacific 2B play at 6-0 and 7-6 on the year. North Beach began the night at 3-2 in league play and 9-3 for the season.

The Spartans started strong leading from the start in the 1st set. The turning point was when Forks’ Fynlie Peters took the serve leading 16-12 and reeled off 6 straight points with multiple aces buildinbg their lead to 22-12. The Spartans closed it out to take set 1 25-13.

Forks had the momentum heading into the 2nd and the additional motivation of being senior night. Once again, the Spartans took control with the front line working hard led by Avery Dilley and Bailey Johnson. Karee Neel was critical is setting up scoring chances for her team mates. The Spartans delivered time and again to pull away for a 25-12 win to go up 2-0.

The Hyaks were in a must win situation to push the match to a 4th set and they did not give up. North Beach put together their best effort of the night with strong performances from Alexus Ford and Elka Cox but it would not be enough.

Forks made sure the match would not allow the match to be extended and shut down the Hyaks with a 25-20 3rd set win to complete the 3-0 win.
