The 16-team tournament will end up with five heading to the state tournament. There’s still one match to be played and that is a critical one. It’ll be played on Saturday morning at 10 am at Mount Tahoma High School between Skyview and Auburn Riverside. The winner will get into the state tournament. The loser will have their season come to an end.
Consolation Bracket
November 7th (winner to state, loser out)
Game 18: (10) Skyview vs. (8) Auburn Riverside at Mount Tahoma HS, 10 am.
Championship
Game 17: (1) Sumner 3 , (7) Stadium 2
The district championship match was played on Thursday night at Mount Tahoma High School. The Sumner Spartans jumped out to a 3-0 lead, needed every single one of them as Stadium came roaring back, scoring two late goals but could not get the equalizer, and the Spartans ended up as district champions. Both teams are headed to state.
Meantime Curtis defeated Skyview 2-1 and Camas blanked Auburn Riverside 2-0. Curtis and Camas, in the past, would have played for third place. Since they both advance to the state tournament and a seating committee decides their placement in the state tournament, they will not be playing that third-place match. Both are headed to state.
