WF West 5, Tumwater 1
(Chehalis, WA) After opening the EVCO 2A on September 24th both teams came away with 2-1 wins. The Tumwater T-Birds got their win at home against Aberdeen while the WF West Bearcats won on the road against Black Hills. The Bearcats are unbeaten this season with a 6-0-2 record with wins over 2 3A teams, Capital and Evergreen Vancouver and 4A Yelm. Tumwater had a 2-5-1 record coming into the match.
1st Half
WF West got the goal scoring going in the 14th minute on a back post shot by junior forward Izzy Teeter.
Tumwater tied the game in the 19th minute. Brielle Clark got the ball into the 18 yard box after it deflected off a defender Railey VanZuyt blasted a shot into the back of the net for the equalizer.
The Bearcats’ Mirabel Burger scored in the 21st with an assist from Sable Bunker to retake the lead. Burger added a 2nd goal in the 28th for the 3-1 lead that would hold up till the halftime whistle.
WF West got 6 saves from senior goal keeper Charlee Nelson in the first half while Tumwater’s freshman goal keeper Ellie Plang made 2 saves. Each team had 1 corner kick in the first half.
Halftime WF West 3, Tumwater 1
The Bearcats 4th goal came just 7 minutes into the 2nd half on a beautifully struck ball by Mirabel Burger giving the freshman a hat trick for the game. Burger was involved in the final goal as well this time assisting Greta Oien in the 76th for the 5-1 win.

The MVP went to Mirabel Burger for the hat trick and assist in the match.
What’s Next?
The Bearcats go on the road to take on Shelton on October 1st.
Tumwater travels to Centralia for their next match also on October 1st.
