Bellarmine 5, North Thurston 1
(Lacey, WA) The Bellarmine Prep Lions came into the match with a 1-0-1 record in the state of Washington. They were coming off a 2 game road trip in Oregon where they played tough competition but came away with 2 losses. North Thurston came in with a 1-1-1 record after a 1-1 draw against the Black Hills Wolves. Both teams are playing their first match of the 3A Puget Sound League.
1st Half
The Lions got off to a roaring start after a 9th minute goal by junior forward Emry Parker. Bellarmine added a 2nd goal in the 27th on a perfectly placed pass by Olivia Chambers was tapped in by Abby Cassidy. The Lions took that 2-0 lead into the half.
North Thurston did have the only corner in the first half and got 3 saves from sophomore keeper Quincie Henderson.
2nd Half
The 2nd half opened almost the same way as the first with Bellarmine scoring around the 10 minute mark. Lexi Wan found Olivia Chambers for the 3-0 lead. Wan would get a goal of her own 13 minutes later to give the Lions a 4-0 lead.
North Thurston avoided the shutout after a free kick taken by Molly Littauer. The free kick was bushed into the cross
bar by BP keeper Charlotte Lamb and after deflecting the rebounding shot freshman forward Londyn McKenzie notched the first league goal of the season for North Thurston.
The Lions Emry Parker added a bookend goal in the 69th for the final goal of the night and the 5-1 win.

Emry Parker was named MVP for the brace and all around play throughout the match.
Up Next
Bellarmine is now 1-0 in PSL play and hosts back to back matches against Peninsula and Lincoln on September 24th and 29th.
North Thurston is now 0-1 in the PSL and plays at Central Kitsap on September 24th and then hosts Silas on the 29th.
