(Rochester, WA) South Sound Speedway hosted an action-packed program on Saturday, August 22, 2026, with four divisions competing in a full slate of main events.
Event Lineup:
*Powersports NW Super Late Models: 4 cars, 50 laps
*Hinkle Homes Hobby Stocks: 12 cars, 40 laps
*Olympia Overhead Doors Vintage Modifieds: 10 cars, 24 laps
*SS Bandits: 9 cars, 30 laps
Powersports NW Super Late Models
Jeff Peterson started on the pole with Tom Sweatman alongside him. Sweatman jumped to the lead on lap 1 and never looked back, winning the 50-lap main event ahead of Peterson, Robert Clark, and Chase Pittman.
Fast Time: Tom Sweatman, 14.192.
Trophy Dash: Robert Clark.
Hinkle Homes Hobby Stocks
Andy Reandeau started on the pole with Craig Pfander to his outside and led the opening lap. Joe Champ moved to the front on lap 10 before Shawn Jones took over on lap 11. A lap-36 caution came out when Reandeau spun on the front stretch, but Jones held on to win the 40-lap main event. Derrick Presley finished second, followed by Eric Woods, Joe Champ, and Levi Allen.

Olympia Overhead Doors Vintage Modifieds
Dave Larsen started on the pole with Chris Branon on the outside. Branon led lap 1 before George Chambers took over on lap 2 and Scott Rinkel moved to the front on lap 7. The race changed dramatically on lap 22 when Rinkel’s car blew up in turn 2, bringing out the first caution.
The restart produced another caution when Chambers spun in turn 2. Brian Wilson took the lead on lap 23, but Ron Jackson spun on the backstretch to bring out the third caution.
Jeff Peterson took the lead on lap 24, followed by two more incidents: Jackson spun again in turn 3, and Wilson and Bob Monroe spun in turn 2 on the restart. The race ended under red and checkered flags, with officials reverting to the last completed green-flag lap and placing Wilson and Monroe behind the lead-lap cars.
Peterson won the 24-lap Vintage Modified main event, followed by Joey Cavin, Chad Smith, Branon, and Chambers.

SS Bandits
Carson Bentley started on the pole with Sean Rothwell alongside him and led the opening lap. Steve Miller took the lead on lap 4, the same lap Cameron Stark and Riley Windsor got together and hit the wall in turn 1, bringing out the first caution. Rick Taylor moved to the front on lap 7.
Two more cautions followed: Rothwell spun in turn 2 on lap 20, and Dale Knutson spun in turn 2 on lap 23. Taylor went on to win the 30-lap main event, followed by Miller, Knutson, Jaxon Johnson, and Rothwell.
