(Rochester, WA) South Sound Speedway hosted a full night of racing on Saturday, August 1, 2026, featuring three divisions and a packed schedule of main-event action.
*Northwest Super Late Models Series, Weather Guard Roofing – Kennedy Classic: 19 cars, 200 laps
*Crown Stocks: 14 cars, 25 laps twin mains
*Busted MC / Blacklake Auto Wrecking Tuners: 20 cars, 27 laps.
Northwest Super Late Models Series — Weather Guard Roofing – Kennedy Classic Main Event
The 200-lap Kennedy Classic opened with Brandon Carlson on the pole and Christopher Kalsch alongside him. Carlson led the first lap, while a series of cautions shaped the early and middle portions of the race.
Incidents involving Mike Brooks, Jeff Peterson, Zandar Peters, Matt Doyle, Melanie Schmitt, Randy Garcia, JJ Hamilton, and others repeatedly slowed the field, with competition yellows adding to the strategy.
Alan Cress first moved into the lead on lap 66, while Bryce Bezanson and Dave Garber also spent time out front during the second half. Cress reclaimed the lead on lap 160 and held on to win the Weather Guard Roofing – Kennedy Classic main event.
Results: Top five: Alan Cress, Brandon Carlson, Dave Garber, Bob Presley, and Kyle Cottam.
Fast time: JJ Hamilton, 13.947.
1st Crown Stock Main Event
David Schoonover started on the pole with Jaxson Johnson to his outside. Chris Jack led lap 1 before Alex Kieff spun to bring out the first caution. Layla Jolie took over the lead on lap 4, and Chad Davis moved to the front on lap 15 before driving on to win the 25-lap first Crown Stock main event.
2nd Crown Stock Main Event
The second Crown Stock main event again began with David Schoonover on the pole and Jaxson Johnson on the outside. The race opened with a turn 1 incident involving Chris Jack, Johnson, and Tyler Hamilton, resulting in a complete restart. Jack led lap 1 after the restart, but another caution followed when Schoonover, Mason McGregor, Sheridan Wharton, and Doug Wilde got together on the backstretch.
Bob Koepl took the lead on lap 6 before Donnie Steele moved ahead on lap 9 and went on to win the 25-lap second Crown Stock main event.
Results 1st: Top five: Chad Davis, Donnie Steele, Bob Koepl, Layla Jolie, and Travis McGregor.
Results 2nd: Top five: Donnie Steele, Bob Koepl, Chad Davis, Travis McGregor, and Alex Kieff.

Busted MC / Blacklake Auto Wrecking Tuners Main Event
Billy Buchanan started on the pole with Dillion D’Andrea on the outside, and D’Andrea took the lead on lap 1. The 27-lap Tuner main event featured constant position changes among Chris Branon, Dillion D’Andrea, Marcis Davis, Shanda Vaillancourt, Dean Utterback, Shelby Padilla, Jordan Peterson, Jake Utterback, Mike Myers, and Billy Gallwas. After a hard-fought race, Myers took the checkered flag for the Tuner main-event win.
Results: Top five: Mike Myers, Jake Utterback, Billy Gallwas, Jordan Peterson, and Joseph Solis.
Heat winners: Jordan Peterson won heat #1, Billy Gallwas won heat #2, and Chris Branon won heat #3.
